William Rex Sutton, age 82, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, went to be with his wife and Heavenly Father on Nov. 30, 2017.
He was born on July 9, 1935, to Verdi and Margaret Sutton in Grantsville, Utah. He graduated from Grantsville High School and went on to serve an LDS mission. He served in the armed forces during the Korean War. He also worked and retired from Tooele Army Depot.
Rex married his sweetheart, Julie Leatham, on Feb. 12, 1960, in the Salt Lake Temple and they were blessed with two sons, Anthony and Jeff. Rex dedicated his life to family, church and hard work.
Watching sports, camping, family time and attending his sons’ and grandchildren’s sporting events were some of his favorite pastimes. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many years as a ward clerk and librarian for his local ward.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings and wife. He is survived by siblings, Thelma, Alta and La Dean (Wayne); sons, Anthony and Jeff; grandchildren, Christa, Ceilly and Kaden; and great-grandchild Moses.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 6, 2017, at the Clark Second Ward, 81 N. Church St. in Grantsville, with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Grantsville City Cemetery.
