On Oct. 19, 2017, LaVerna May Traphagen Davies (Amis) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born to Ed Traphagen and Clara Miller Traphagen on Jan. 28, 1930.
LaVerna loved the family life. She adored her husband Kenneth Leroy Davies and her children, Scott, Randy, Robyn, Kaylyn and Karen Davies. She devoted her extra time as a lunch lady cooking for Tooele Junior High School.
After the passing of her first husband, she met an amazing man and soon married Roland Amis. They had an amazing love for each other spreading it through the countries while traveling and residing in Yuma, Arizona, where they stayed during the winter. They had a beautiful cabin in Scofield that they stayed in during the summer months.
LaVerna is survived by her children: Scott (Cynthia), daughter-in-law Linda, daughters Robyn, Kaylyn and Karen Davies. Preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Davies, son Randy Davies and second husband Roland Amis. She has 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Julie, Melissa, Morgan, Karen and Dr. Kendell Cannon. Special thanks to Dr. Ted Schultz and his team at Granger Medical Center. There was a visitation held at Tate Mortuary on Oct. 24 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Tooele City Cemetery.
